Chris Perkins, Ph.D.
CEO & Chairman, Co-founder
Chris Perkins is the CEO and Chairman of Dropworks, Inc., which he co-founded with academic partners in 2016.
Prior to leading Dropworks, Chris worked in the renewable energy space. He founded Copernican Energy in 2006 to develop solar-based approaches to biofuel production, which he sold to Sundrop Fuels in 2008. Chris led research and development efforts at Sundrop Fuels until 2015, helping to raise over $200MM and build efficient biomass-to-gasoline technology. Between 2015 and 2016, Chris advised a number of startups in the energy, biotech, and healthcare spaces as an Executive-in-Residence at the Rocky Mountain Innosphere.
Chris earned his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Andrew Larsen, Ph.D
VP R&D, Co-founder
Andrew Larsen is a co-founder of Dropworks Inc. Andrew helped develop core intellectual property fundamental to Dropworks’ emulsion biochemistry and microfluidics technologies, and he led the team that first demonstrated the practical and commercial potential of the platform. He guides product and application research and development, creating and demonstrating new uses for the Continuum™ platform. His background is in molecular biology and droplet-based chemistry, especially for enzyme evolution.
Andrew earned his Ph.D. in Biological Design from Arizona State University.
VP Marketing & Sales
Dale Levitzke joined Dropworks Inc. from nanoString Inc. where he was VP of Worldwide Sales, having taken the company from <$10MM in revenue through IPO to >$120MM in revenue over 5.5 years. Prior to this, Dale was with illumina Inc. where he was Sr. Director of Global Sales for the PCR Division following the company’s acquisition of Helixis ($114MM), where he headed Global Sales.
Dale also held the position of GM of Corbett Research, establishing the direct sales, administrative and service office for Corbett Life Sciences in the United States. Corbett Research was acquired by Qiagen for $139MM in 2008.
Dale earned a Bachelor of Science with honors degree in Molecular Biology from La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia.
Marvin Wu joined Dropworks in February 2019 and currently serves as Vice President of Operations. He joined Dropworks with over 15 years of experience in the medical device, technology and automotive industries. Prior to Dropworks, Marvin was Director of Global Supply Chain at Penumbra, a medical device company. Earlier, he held positions in supply chain, program management, and engineering in companies including Boston Scientific, Dell and Volkswagen.
Marvin earned his MBA from University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Engineering from the University of Shanghai for Science and Technology.
Finance, Accounting, and HR
Theresa leads Dropworks Inc’s Finance, Accounting, and HR at Dropworks, bringing public accounting and auditing experience to the organization. Previously, Theresa managed the audits of large SEC registrants at PricewaterhouseCoopers, LLP. There she led teams through IPOs, material restatements, material weaknesses in control environments, fraud audits, mergers, acquisitions and major financial system overhauls. She has also held a management position with Discovery Communications. She began her career at Cigna Healthcare as an auditor.
Theresa holds a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting from Saint Leo University in Dade City, Florida.
